Component of our MOT Testing Services
Below, we have provided a list of everything our qualified engineers check during the MOT testing procedure:

If a vehicle was first used on or after the 1st of August 1980, it should not have more than one vehicle identification number present on it. The same number is permitted to be displayed in multiple places.

All compulsory seatbelts must be in place, in good condition, of the correct type, properly operational and securely anchored. Seats – The driver and front passenger seats should be secure while all backseats must be securable in an upright position.

Must open and close properly and latch while in the closed position. Front doors must be openable from both outside and inside the vehicle. Rear doors will need to be opened to allow our engineers access to testable elements.

The letters and numbers should be properly formatted and the plate itself should be in good condition, fully legible and securely attached to the car.

Fuel System
The fuel cap must fasten and seal correctly and not allow leaks. Please ensure that if your fuel cap has a key, you bring it with you so we can open it up.

Exhaust Emissions
A vehicle cannot violate legal limits on exhaust emissions. The limit takes into account the car’s age and the fuel type it uses.

Wheels and Tyres
Tread depth, tyre size and type must be legal. General condition and how securely they are attached to the vehicle will also be inspected.

Brakes
Must perform properly when put through an efficiency test, which will evaluate their condition. Wheels will stay on while they are tested.

A vehicle should not have sharp edges and the chassis should not be badly corroded or damaged.

Scheduled and Interim Car Servicing Components

We top up:

If you have requested a full annual service package, we will also check and replace the following if needed:
- Lubricate Throttle Linkage
- Crankcase Breather Hoses
- Fuel Filter
- Spark Plugs
- Check when Cam Belt due
- Air Filter
We will:
- Change the Engine Oil
- Replace the Engine Oil Filter
- Check for Oil Leaks
Next, we inspect:
- Fuel Line Condition
- Driveshaft Gaiter Condition
- Steering and Suspension
- Suspension Mountings and Springs
- Shock Condition and Mounting absorber
- Exhaust System and Mountings
- Wheel Bearing Play
We’ll finish this stage by greasing your vehicle’s suspension and steering.
This phase involves us checking:
- Front and Rear Brake Pads
- Pipes and Hoses
Full annual servicing also sees our engineers check:
- Callipers
- Cylinders
- Discs
- Drums
- Bonded or Riveted Shoes
